Opportunities for Local Missions

Being the hands and feet of Jesus

We are the hands and feet of Jesus! Members of Salem are actively serving Jesus every day in our local community in many different ways! If you are looking for an opportunity to serve locally, we have options for adults, students, and families to get plugged in throughout the year, both on- and off-campus. This page will be updated often as needs change and new events are added throughout the year.

MissionApex Produce Ministry

A thriving produce co-op that delivers fresh and very affordable produce to local communities we serve. Ways you can help:
  • Volunteer as often as you’d like to sort and pack produce for delivery in Apex every other Friday from 9:00 – 10:00 am or 11:30 am if assisting with delivery. If interested, please sign up below.
  • Sponsor a month with your small group or donate to the produce ministry. The cost of this ministry is partially funded by Salem’s missions budget, but the remaining $200/month relies on member donations. Donations of any amount can be made by check or cash to Salem Baptist Church with the memo designated “West Haven Ministries Produce”, or online by selecting “West Haven Ministries” from the drop down menu and adding “Produce Co-op” to the optional memo.

Tuesdays On The Block

Each Tuesday at 6:00 PM – 7:00 PM members go to West Haven apartment complex to spend time with kids, teaching them the bible, play games, and share the love of Jesus. Tuesdays On The Block provides kids with structure, physical activity, food, and an opportunity to learn more about Christ.
