At Salem we glorify God, make disciples who pursue Jesus, and share His story. Salem Kids does this by coming alongside parents to create a strong foundation for a lifetime of pursuing Jesus.

A COMMITMENT TO SAFETY
Your child’s safety is a priority for us. To ensure the safety of all kids who attend Salem, we require all adults serving our kids to complete our Abuse Policy Questionnaire and pass a background check.
We also have a check-in system where a parents badge has to match a child’s badge for pick up. If it is your first time at Salem, ask any Greeter to walk you through the process of check-in. Our check-in computers are located in Buildings C and D.

AWANA
AWANA stands for Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed. It is an international children’s program for boys and girls that teaches them the Gospel and trains them to serve God. Leaders, together with parents, help children grow in their faith, memorize Scriptures, and develop a strong understanding of the Bible. AWANA is for kids ages Kindergarten through 6th grade. You may visit or join us at any time through the year!
AWANA Who: Salem AWANA currently includes Sparks (K through 2nd grade) and T&T (3rd through 6th grade).
AWANA What: Salem AWANA consists of three 30-minute sessions. (1) Handbook Time when the clubber shows their completed section and says their memorized verses to their AWANA leader; (2) Council Time when the group gathers together to learn a biblical lesson from our AWANA Commander; and (3) Game Time for playing in the gym (Multi-purpose Room). Salem AWANA is self-paced so your child can work on one or more sections a week. It is best to go over each new section at home and practice the verses before they come to the weekly meeting. Older independent readers can read and prepare sections on their own. For younger children just starting to read, it is best if an adult helps them go through each section and work on memorizing the verses.
AWANA When: Salem AWANA is most Sunday evenings from 5:00 to 6:30 pm. Please see the calendar linked below to confirm which Sundays we have AWANA and see the themes for each week.
AWANA Where: Salem AWANA is held in our Worship Center (Building D). This is the first building you see as you enter Salem Church grounds from North Salem Street. Please come to the Worship Center to drop your kids off or meet our AWANA secretary/leaders to register or find out more info. Sparks are dropped off in the choir room (the room behind the Multi-purpose Room/gym) and picked up in the Multi-purpose Room/gym. T&T are dropped off in the Multi-purpose Room/gym and picked up in the choir room (the room behind the Multi-purpose Room/gym).
AWANA Registration: You may visit or join us at any time through the year. Please register online using the link below or in person in the front of the church during one of our regular AWANA meetings.
